Facial expressions, such as smiling and frowning, are caused by muscle contractions. Over time, these movements create permanent lines and deep wrinkles in the skin. BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable neuromodulator (or neurotoxin) that significantly reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines.
When administered by a qualified doctor, neuromodulators can provide natural-looking results that will leave you looking more youthful and rejuvenated. BOTOX® Cosmetic can effectively treat fine lines and wrinkles that form around the forehead, eyes, and brows.
BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movements in the mid and upper face, including:
While most patients undergo BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment for facial rejuvenation purposes, this product can also be used to control excessive sweating. BOTOX® injections are 90 percent successful at relieving excessive sweating in the underarms, palms, feet, and under the breasts.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes and immobilizes the muscles responsible for facial expressions. SoCal Cool Body professionals will determine the precise location for your injections. A numbing cream may be used for your comfort during treatment. The injections will be made in several points of the face for optimal results.
Patients can return to most of their normal activities immediately after treatment but should avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours. Slight swelling, redness, and bruising may occur but should resolve in about one week.
The initial results of BOTOX® Cosmetic injections will be apparent immediately and will refine over the next one to two weeks. The effects of the neuromodulator can last up to six months. Regular maintenance treatments will be needed to prolong the results, but many patients report that their results last longer with repeated treatments.
