Which JUVÉDERM® Formula Is Right for You?

Dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM® represent a great option for you to add more volume to your face. They can be used for your lips, your cheeks, your jawline, and other areas of your body that you believe need a little bit of “oomph.”

One thing to note is that JUVÉDERM® dermal fillers come in different formulas, each specific for a different problem. So, which one should you choose, based on your needs? Let’s discuss the different formulas, so that you know exactly what to expect.

JUVÉDERM® is a dermal filler that consists of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is meant to add more volume to areas with wrinkles or hollowed skin. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your body, keeping your skin plump, firm, and youthful. However, as you age, your skin is no longer able to produce as much hyaluronic acid.

JUVÉDERM® aims to replenish your HA content, restoring the facial contour and improving aging signs. The substance injected in the problem area will not only add more volume but will also trigger natural collagen production. The effects can last for up to 18 months, but we recommend you go for yearly touch-ups to maintain your look.

Different JUVÉDERM® Alternatives

JUVÉDERM® comes in different formulas, usually used on the mid and lower areas of your face. The formulas can be found in simple and “XC” versions (common option), the latter meaning that it includes lidocaine so that you do not experience pain or discomfort during the procedure.

So, after a consultation at SoCal Cool Body, we may recommend the following JUVÉDERM® formulas:

If you want to correct vertical lip lines and add subtle volume to your lips, JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC is a great option. It is popular among those women and men who are noticing early-onset signs of aging. Featuring the thinnest formula of JUVÉDERM®, it does a better job at treating fine lines than deep wrinkles. However, this exact formula makes it the perfect choice for filling your under-eye area.

JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC is usually the best option when you want to treat marionette lines (i.e., the lines on the side of your mouth and nose). It has a medium consistency, something between VOLBELLA® and VOLUMA™. It’s thick enough to enter your deeper folds and fix them, but it’s soft enough to allow comfortable facial movement. The results of this treatment may last for up to 18 months.

If you are looking for a JUVÉDERM® lip treatment, then JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC can be a suitable solution for your needs. It can be used no matter if you lose volume to aging, or simply dream of bigger lips. Aside from its popular lip filler purpose, JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC may also be used for treating cheek wrinkles or creases around your mouth.

When JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC is not enough for you, JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC can offer more dramatic results. ULTRA PLUS XC has a thicker formula compared to the regular ULTRA XC, making it good for deeper wrinkles or heavily sunken skin. Moreover, if you want those big lips often sported by celebrities on TV, ULTRA PLUS can offer more dramatic results. Being the thickest formula of them all, it is your “go big or go home” option.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC is mostly used for cheek augmentation. After a certain age, you may lose volume in your cheeks, which gives you that hollow look in your eyes. JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC can refill and plump those hollows, making you look radiant and healthy. Through its action, it can contour and lift your sunken cheeks, an effect that can last for up to two years.

Reduce Wrinkles With JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® was made with different formulas so that it can help different categories of people reach the results that they desire. That being said, finding the right option for you can be quite challenging and that’s why we’re here to help. Schedule your consultation with SoCal Cool Body, and we’ll find the right treatment for you.

For more information about the different forms of JUVÉDERM®, you can contact SoCal Cool Body at 951-397-0530 (Murrieta) or 760-298-8078 (Palm Desert). We are more than happy to answer all your questions. Our contact form is also available every time you have an inquiry.

Can You Get BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment While Pregnant?

They say that pregnancy makes you glow with beauty, but that “glow” may only boil down to bigger breasts and a massive belly. On the other hand, your skin might look tired, as if it has seen better days. So, when pregnancy takes a toll on you, you might be looking for something that can enhance your beauty and make you look and feel more confident. That’s where BOTOX® Cosmetic comes in.

But can pregnant women get BOTOX® Cosmetic? Is it safe, and are there any precautions that you need to keep in mind? Thankfully, you don’t have to let go of your beauty standards when you become pregnant, but there are a couple of things to be careful of. In this blog, we will address the safety of BOTOX® Cosmetic for women who are bringing new life into the world.

What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable product made with botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. When injected into the problem area, the substance restricts muscle movement temporarily, and since your facial muscles will no longer be able to perform wrinkle-causing movements, the wrinkles’ appearance will be reduced.

BOTOX® Cosmetic interferes with nerves that allow specific muscle movements. However, it is still considered a “drug,” which raises questions for pregnant women. However, not every drug or cosmetic treatment is dangerous during pregnancy, so a consultation with Dr. Patrick Moore will establish whether you are a candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic or not.

BOTOX® Cosmetic While Pregnant: What Does Research Say?

There is little official research that we have on BOTOX® Cosmetic for pregnant women. The FDA labeled the substance as a Category C drug. According to research, Category C drugs hold the potential for adverse effects on the fetus, which is why caution is required. That being said, not every substance from this category can have the same effect.

There are no big studies involving the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic on pregnant women to provide an official conclusion. However, there were smaller studies conducted on women in different pregnancy stages. These women were closely monitored throughout their pregnancy, and it showed that the babies were delivered safely to term.

In the end, while there may only be a few studies on the matter, it seems that BOTOX® Cosmetic is a substance that can be safely administered during pregnancy. However, doctors still advise caution until more research is conducted

Possible Complications of BOTOX® Cosmetic During Pregnancy

Since there are very few studies on BOTOX® Cosmetic during pregnancy, it can be difficult to pinpoint what the complications may be. Sometimes, adverse reactions may arise when BOTOX® Cosmetic spreads past the injection site, leading to botulism, a condition that may be associated with muscle weakness, trouble breathing, or blurred vision.

Fetal malformations were not typically reported, but minor birth defects may still occur. It is not known yet whether the complications were caused by using BOTOX® Cosmetic during pregnancy, as only a few isolated incidents were depicted. Since 1 in 33 babies are born with birth defects every year, the causes can vary from one woman to another.

Adverse reactions are very rare if the pregnant woman is otherwise healthy, but if you are at risk of a complicated birth, Dr. Patrick Moore may suggest that you wait until after you give birth. This will prevent any complications altogether.

Verdict: Is BOTOX® Cosmetic Safe During Pregnancy?

There is little research to show that BOTOX® Cosmetic is safe to use. That’s why some healthcare providers recommend that you wait until after the pregnancy is over to reduce risks to zero. Others consider that the risks are too minimal to count. In the end, it all depends on your health status during pregnancy, and after a thorough consultation, Dr. Patrick Moore can establish whether you should use BOTOX® Cosmetic during pregnancy or not. Book your appointment now!

For more information about BOTOX® and its potential use during pregnancy, you can contact SoCal Cool Body at 951-397-0530 for our Murrieta office and 760-298-8078 for our Palm Desert location. We will answer all your questions. You may also use our online contact form to find out more details on the matter.

Ultimate Guide to CoolSculpting® Elite

Stubborn fat never listens, no matter how much you try to exercise or diet it away. For instance, you might think you are at a healthy weight, but the fat underneath your chin or the love handles on your sides might say otherwise. And if you don’t want to call on traditional surgery to rid your body of excess fat, then you can undergo a non-surgical treatment like CoolSculpting® Elite.

But what exactly is CoolSculpting® Elite, and how is it different from CoolSculpting®? Are there any reasons why you should choose this treatment instead? All of your questions will be answered because this blog will talk about CoolSculpting® Elite vs. CoolSculpting®, and we will explore the benefits of CoolSculpting® Elite.

What Is CoolSculpting® Elite?

CoolSculpting® Elite is a non-invasive technique that uses cryolipolysis to freeze your fat cells. This can help you get rid of stubborn fat areas in your body, gradually eliminating the adipose cells to offer a natural slimming effect. As the cells die, your body will remove them naturally over time.

CoolSculpting® Elite follows the same technology as CoolSculpting®, but one of the differences between the two treatments is that CoolSculpting® Elite can target two areas simultaneously. This makes it a great choice for those women and men who are short on time and want to have multiple areas treated, such as the upper hips (i.e., love handles), thighs, arms, back, chin, and abdomen.

When Should You Opt for CoolSculpting® Elite?

Since CoolSculpting® Elite is a way to target stubborn fat areas, it can be used in the following situations:

1. You Are Close to Your Ideal Weight
CoolSculpting® Elite is a good option when you are close to your goal weight but you’re struggling to shed those last few pounds. The treatment works best if you are within 30 pounds of your ideal body weight and following a healthy lifestyle. CoolSculpting® Elite can help you lose up to 25 percent of the extra fat from a treated area.

2. You Aren’t Interested in Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical way to eliminate unwanted fat in stubborn areas, but it’s not always recommended for everyone. For example, if you cannot handle the downtime, medical providers may rule liposuction out. CoolSculpting® Elite is non-invasive with minimal recovery time, which makes it a better alternative if you want to lose fat without missing a beat!

3. You Have Stubborn Pockets of Fat
If you’ve followed an exercise routine and diet but still cannot get rid of the stubborn pockets of fat, then you may want to consider CoolSculpting® Elite. For instance, love handles are difficult to shed because they are not as easy to target as compared to other body parts. However, with a CoolSculpting® Elite session, you are able to target two areas at the same time and more closely with the dual applicators.

Benefits of CoolSculpting® Elite

Now, let’s see some differences between CoolSculpting® and CoolSculpting® Elite, and the factors that make the Elite version a good choice.

  • Faster Treatments
The standard CoolSculpting® treatment will last for about a half an hour per area. This means that if you want to treat two areas (for example, both of your thighs), then you may be in your treatment session for about one hour. Because CoolSculpting® Elite uses two applicators, you can target two areas at the same time, significantly reducing your treatment time, which allows you to get back to your regularly scheduled day much faster.
  • Comfortable Applicators
Some patients found the original CoolSculpting® applicators to be slightly tight and uncomfortable. The C-contour of the CoolSculpting® Elite applicators offer a better fit to your body, increasing comfort and minimizing the squeezing during the treatment. This makes the session more relaxing while keeping your treatment soreness at a minimum.

Verdict: Is CoolSculpting® Elite Worth It?

If you have stubborn fat areas that won’t go away no matter what you do, CoolSculpting® Elite can be a great alternative to help shape your body. CoolSculpting® Elite reviews mention that the effects are quick and offer you more coverage than the average exercising and dieting. So, if you want to find out whether you’re a candidate for CoolSculpting® Elite or not, book an appointment with SoCal Cool Body so that we can examine you, discuss your goals, and answer any questions you may have.

For more information about CoolSculpting® Elite, you can call SoCal Cool Body at 951-397-0530 for our Murrieta office or 760-298-8078 for our Palm Desert location. You may also use our online contact form to request further details.

All You Need to Know About LATISSE®

We all want those beautiful, luscious lashes that make our eyes pop. Still, only a few of us are that lucky. Around 51% of the women say that their eyelashes are not looking their best, becoming thinner over time. These women admit to using much more mascara than they like, trying to make their eyelashes thicker and more voluminous. Moreover, to get the effect of full fringes around the eyes, many women also resort to eyelash extensions.

However, if you do not want fake eyelashes weighing your eyelids down uncomfortably, science came up with another alternative: the LATISSE® serum. Designed to help you grow your lashes, LATISSE® has gained quite a bit of popularity over the years, so you might be interested in using it as well. You’ve come to the right place because this blog will tell you everything you need to know about the LATISSE® serum.

LATISSE® eyelash serum is a product approved by the FDA for those women and men who deal with scant lashes and volume loss and want to grow their lashes.

Based on bimatoprost, LATISSE® was originally used as eye drops to treat glaucoma, but the patients noticed an interesting LATISSE® side effect: their lashes grew longer and thicker. This gave scientists the idea that the treatment could also work against lash loss.

Areas Treatable With LATISSE®

LATISSE® is recommended for the following two areas:

  • Eyelashes
LATISSE® is a very effective treatment when used on the eyelashes, but you should only apply the serum on the upper eyelid, and not the lower one. LATISSE® can lead to some side effects if it comes in contact with the surface of your skin constantly. So, at SoCal Cool Body, we only recommend that you apply LATISSE® on the margin of the upper lid, at the base of your eyelashes.

  • Eyebrows
While LATISSE® is mostly used on the eyelashes, research shows that the serum may also be used on the eyebrows. However, please note that its effectiveness may be affected by different factors. For example, if you apply the serum incorrectly and do not reach the roots, then you might not notice remarkable results. Also, if there is an underlying cause for your eyebrow loss, the serum might not be able to do much for you. In this case, you should treat the cause rather than the surface symptoms.

What to Expect With LATISSE®?

If you apply LATISSE® daily, then you should see the results after four weeks of use, and the effects will be maintained for as long as you use the serum. Once you stop applying the treatment, your lashes will gradually return to the volume and length they had before using LATISSE®. However, keep in mind that the results are different for each patient.

To obtain the best effects, you should use the treatment in the morning. This way, the solution won’t rub into the pillow, rendering it ineffective. Another tip to remember is that you should always use the dose recommended by your medical provider, which is one drop per day. Using more than that won’t lead to faster results but may irritate your eyelids instead.

Last, but not least, do not touch the tip of the bottle or the applicator because you put yourself at risk of bacterial contamination, which can lead to infection. And don’t forget to always wash your hands before using the serum.

Verdict: Should You Use LATISSE®?

LATISSE® can be a good solution for treating eyelash problems, ultimately giving you that luscious fringe around your eyes. If you are tired of constantly applying fake eyelashes and mascara or getting eyelash extensions, then LATISSE® may be the option you are looking for to help you grow your lashes naturally. Set up an appointment with SoCal Cool Body to see what LATISSE® can do for you.

For more information about LATISSE®, you can contact SoCal Cool Body. We have an office in Henrietta that can be reached at 951-397-0530 and one in Palm Desert that is reachable at 760-298-0878. You may also use our online contact form if you have any questions.

Will a Chemical Peel Remove My Melasma?

Skin discoloration on the face can sometimes be a nuisance for both men and women. No matter how many scrubs, creams, or makeup products you’ve tried, those marks are still there on your face, staring right back at you. At first, you may not know what it is—dirt, old makeup, paint?! And then you realize that it is melasma. But what’s next? Figuring out exactly what melasma is and how to treat it can help to ease your mind and give you that boost of confidence you may have been missing.

What Is Melasma?

Melasma is a skin condition that affects both men and women; however, it is more common in women. Women in their 20s to 40s, especially pregnant women and/or women who take oral contraceptives or hormones, are more susceptible to developing this skin disorder. Melasma appears as brown or grayish patches on the cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. This skin condition is typically caused by sun exposure or hormones.

What Chemical Peel Is Best to Remove My Melasma?

While some melasma conditions resolve on their own, some do not. At SoCal Cool Body, we offer SkinMedica®’s Rejuvenize Peel™, which is appropriate for moderate to severe skin imperfections. During your Rejuvenize Peel™, your skin is saturated with the chemical solution to thoroughly dry out and agitate the visible layer of skin (epidermis and uppermost section of the underlying dermal layers). This process causes the treated skin to flake away as new skin rises to the surface, revealing younger, healthier, and clearer skin.

This chemical peel takes about one hour to complete; however, since the Rejuvenize Peel™ is self-neutralizing, the chemicals do not go away until you wash them off, which is typically six hours after the solution is applied. Patients report sensitivity or a warm feeling and mild tingling during the peel.

Over the first two days, visible peeling will take place, and the most obvious peeling and flaking will occur on the third day. Peels are a great skin care treatment to undergo that does not cause serious discomfort or require significant downtime.

Once the dead skin is removed, patients can look forward to smoother, more luminous skin. Chemical peels produce noticeable improvements after one peel, but the most effective results appear after three to six peels. You will receive a customized treatment plan during your consultation with the experts at SoCal Cool Body.

How Can I Protect My Skin?

It is very important to protect your skin after your Rejuvenize Peel™. Your skin is fresh and new, so shielding your skin from environmental factors and everyday debris will help to prolong your results. Some after-care steps to partake in include:

  • Cleansing: Use a gentle cleanser. (Do not scrub or use any exfoliating products.)
  • Moisturizing: Apply moisturizer as often as needed to relieve dryness, tightness, and itching.
  • Protecting: Apply sunscreen throughout the day and avoid direct sunlight.

Continuing these steps after each chemical peel, as well as moisturizing and protecting with sunscreen daily, can truly help to give you the vibrant, glowing skin you’ve been looking for.

Start Your CoolSculpting® Elite Journey Now to Be Ready for Summer!

Even though we find ourselves in the middle of winter, it is never too soon to start thinking about summer. Trips to the beach, the days at the pool, hangouts with friends. However, for many men and women, the prospect of summer can be worrisome. That is because they may feel self-conscious about their bodies, especially with excess fat in various parts of their bodies. And while you can diet and exercise like crazy, the reality is that natural methods do not address all of the fat in your body. The good news is that stubborn fat can be eliminated from your body with a simple and painless cosmetic treatment. CoolSculpting® Elite is one of the most effective non-surgical body-contouring treatments available.

What Can CoolSculpting® Elite Offer You?

CoolSculpting® Elite is a non-invasive and painless cosmetic treatment that uses cryolipolysis to eliminate subcutaneous fat from hard-to-reach-areas of the body. In addition to the results provided by CoolSculpting® Elite, the fat is removed permanently from your body so that you can enjoy long-lasting results. After your CoolSculpting® Elite treatment, you can look forward to feeling more comfortable and confident with your appearance, as well as wearing clothes that you never had the body to pull off before.

How Is CoolSculpting® Elite Performed?

To achieve optimal results with CoolSculpting® Elite, most patients need to undergo two to three treatment sessions per target area. For your procedure, the CoolSculpting® Elite applicator will be placed on your target area. The fat will be frozen and ultimately destroyed during the course of your treatment session. Over the next several weeks, the dead fat cells will be naturally eliminated from your body.

What Areas of the Body Can CoolSculpting® Elite Correct?

CoolSculpting® Elite is FDA cleared to treat nine different areas of the body, including under the chin and jawline areas, thighs, abdomen, flanks, bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks, and the upper arms. A personalized treatment plan will help to determine which of the seven applicators will work best for you and your desired results.

Why Should You Consider CoolSculpting® Elite Now?

Because your final results will take multiple treatments and several weeks, it is important to undergo your CoolSculpting® Elite treatment before summer. That way, you will be able to have your optimal results when you want them. No longer will you feel embarrassed or nervous to show your skin or body when you’re enjoying your favorite summertime activities.

Two women blowing kisses

Which Lip Filler Should I Choose?

At SoCal Cool Body, we offer JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC for thin lips. This filler is made up of hyaluronic acid (HA) for a subtle, natural look to ensure that you don’t get overfilled lips, duck lips, or sausage lips. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC adds volume to the lips and addresses asymmetry, vertical lip lines, and fine lipstick lines. It can also be used on the outline of the lips to provide a more natural look. Because of the HA in this filler, you will hardly feel a change as this filler is light and silky.

When Should I Get Lip Filler?

If you are wanting your lips to be plump for Valentine’s Day, then undergoing your JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC treatment at the end of January or the beginning of February is the best time. This gives the filler enough time to settle in and allows the potential side effects, like bruising, swelling, and redness, to subside. Though you may notice a difference right away, your full results will be ready just in time for your Valentine’s Day kiss.

Will I Need to Get More Filler?

The short answer is yes. If you are loving your results, then you will eventually need to undergo touch-up treatments for your lip filler. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC is temporary, and depending on how quickly your body naturally breaks down the HA, results typically last up to one year. On the contrary, if you do not wish to keep up with your full lips, then you do not need to get any more treatments. The great thing about JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC also, is that it can be reversed. So if you do not care for the look of your full lips, you can remedy that right away and your lips will go back to their pre-injectable state.

Most patients choose JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC for its subtle and natural-looking results. Get your kissable pout ready and contact SoCal Cool Body today to schedule your appointment

For more information about JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC, please contact our office by calling our Murrieta location at 951-397-0530 or you may contact us online!

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, BOTOX® Cosmetic Can Really Help You!

Valentine’s Day is only a few weeks away, which means flowers need to be bought and reservations need to be made. However, that’s not all. To make sure that your Valentine’s Day is as special as you want it to be, you need to make sure that you are looking your absolute best. Unfortunately, the majority of men and women suffer from wrinkles and fine lines that can really distract from the natural aesthetic of their faces. The good news is that BOTOX® Cosmetic can eliminate unsightly wrinkles on your face. And the even better news is that you can see results immediately after your treatment session. But you need to make the first step and schedule your consultation today. Below, we will take a look at BOTOX® Cosmetic to help you understand just how effective and easy this treatment can be for you.

Woman blowing heart kisses

How Does BOTOX® Cosmetic Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator, which means that it blocks nerves from sending messages to the brain. This is important for minimizing the appearance of wrinkles because dynamic wrinkles are caused by consistent muscle contractions. When specific muscles move, lines in the skin can form, and unfortunately there is no natural way to keep these wrinkles from appearing. So, whether you smile, frown, or squint. You will inevitably see wrinkles and lines on your forehead, between your brows, and around your eyes (crow’s feet).

Botulinum toxin A is the active ingredient in BOTOX® Cosmetic. The BOTOX® Cosmetic solution is injected directly into the muscle, which blocks specific movement in the muscle and skin. This means that you can achieve smoother skin in no time at all. In fact, most BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments take 15 minutes to complete. So, you can literally get the skin on your face ready for your big date during your lunch break.

What to Expect After Your BOTOX® Cosmetic Session

While you will see improvement to the appearance of your skin immediately following your treatment session, it is important to understand that you may have slight swelling and bruising at the injection site. This is why it is important to give yourself enough time (usually two to three days) to allow your skin to heal completely. Additionally, it is necessary that patients understand that BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a long lasting treatment. Instead, you will be able to enjoy your stunning results for three to four months before needing a maintenance treatment. However, with regular treatments, you can enjoy your results for as little or as long as you desire.

This Valentine’s Day, make sure that your significant other sees you at your very best!

What to Know About LATISSE®

Gone are the days of having to use false eyelashes or wear mascara every day just to look more alive and awake. At SoCal Cool Body, we now offer LATISSE® to help you enhance the appearance and length of your eyelashes. The eyes are one of the most noticeable features of a person, and why not enhance them even more with beautiful, thick, and long eyelashes? Let’s explore what to know about LATISSE® before you schedule your appointment with us!

Woman with blue eyes - LATISSE®

FDA Approved, Safe & Effective

LATISSE® is an FDA-approved serum that is designed to promote hair growth. This process is safe and effective as it is performed topically on the upper lash line. It is so safe, in fact, that it was originally used as a medication, called Lumigan, to treat glaucoma. A prescription for LATISSE® is needed in order to obtain the product, so a consultation with Dr. Moore is necessary to achieve long, beautiful lash results. Once you have a prescription, the topical serum can be applied at home.

Consistency Is Key

It is important to be consistent with your LATISSE® application. Once you start the process, we recommend that you continue with it to achieve and maintain those longer, thicker lashes. If you stop, the lashes will not grow anymore and will eventually go back to the starting point. That’s the beauty of this product! If you want to stop it, then stop it. There is no harm in starting and stopping. After you have used this product for about two months, you can skip days if you want to slow down on the results without stopping them completely.

Keeping a consistent routine is good for the lashes and also easier for you to remember to put the serum on. The application should be performed at night time so that the LATISSE® eyelash serum can be absorbed completely. LATISSE® should be used one time per day, typically when you go to sleep, along the upper lash line.

Candidacy for Achieving Longer Lashes

Most men and women are candidates for LATISSE®. If you suffer from thin, short lashes and are looking to increase the density and volume of your eyelashes, then LATISSE® may be right for you. Again, this eyelash serum can only be used if it has been prescribed by your doctor, so please schedule an appointment with Dr. Moore at SoCal Cool Body to begin your journey to longer, darker, more noticeable lashes!

For more information about LATISSE®, please contact our office by calling our Murrieta location at 951-397-0530 or you may contact us online!

How to Prepare for Your Chemical Peel, and What to Expect for Your Treatment?

Regardless of age, many men and women struggle with tired and dull skin on their faces. This can cause people to look tired, worn out, and much, much older than they actually are. While you can use makeup to try to cover up these skin concerns, isn’t it better to treat them directly? If you answer yes, then chemical peels might just be your solution.

Woman receiving a facial

At SoCal Cool Body, we are proud to offer three revolutionary chemical peel treatments to help you achieve the revitalized and youthful facial aesthetic that you’ve been missing.

How Should I Prepare for My Chemical Peel?

One of the most important aspects of your chemical peel is your consultation. At your chemical peel consultation, you will have the chance to discuss your cosmetic frustrations and goals, while your skin care professional is able to evaluate your condition to determine if a chemical peel is right for you and also which chemical peel treatment will be most effective.

At SoCal Cool Body, we offer the Illuminize Peel®, Vitalize Peel®, and Rejuvenize Peel™. Each of these peels is effective for treating age-related skin concerns (wrinkles and fine lines) as well as other skin blemishes. The difference between these peels comes down to the extent of correction needed.

Once you have decided to undergo a chemical peel treatment, it is important that you prepare your skin for the procedure. Some of the best ways to get yourself ready include:

  • Refraining from exfoliating your skin
  • Refraining from wearing makeup
  • Avoiding the sun as much as possible
  • Limiting or stopping certain medication use (this will be discussed during your consultation)

How Is a Chemical Peel Performed?

Chemical peels are a relatively simple procedure that is performed on an outpatient basis. Depending on the chemical peel chosen, local anesthesia may be used to limit any discomfort you may feel during your procedure. Next, your skin care professional will apply the chemical agent to the treatment area (usually the entire face). After the designated amount of time, the chemical solution will be removed from your skin. Over the next several days, the top layers of treated skin will flake off naturally to expose healthy and new skin that can help you look more youthful and radiant.

For more information about chemical peels, please contact our office by calling our Murrieta location at 951-397-0530 or you may contact us online!
